Ocean Reveries | AMS 353 Final Project

“Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off– then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.” – Moby-Dick, “Loomings”

Produced as the final project for AMS 353: Moby-Dick Unbound. Shot from the POV of Ishmael right before the novel happens leading into “Loomings”… if it took place on the West Coast.

Filmed & edited by Christine Wang
Music: “Instrumental II” & “Blue Skies” by Noah and the Whale
Inspired by: Moby-Dick, “Loomings” & “The Pacific”
