Hong Kong Wetland Park

As beautifully done as it is, the Hong Kong Wetland Park is yet another form of carefully cultivated/tamed nature. It’s the kind of access to nature that is tourist friendly complete with frequently cleaned bathrooms, vending machines, and paved trails. Just outside the park, I found a banyan tree with roots growing along the grid of the pavement along with some weeds poking out between the cracks. The contrast between wildlife inside and outside the park made me giggle a little.
