So why does this blog exist?
Well, it started off as a way for me to archive every half-decent piece I’ve ever written for ‘The Prince,’ but as I was backdating my work, I realized there were gaps in the logical flow of some of my pieces. My philosophy changes frequently, due to my incredible fortune for having been raised in San Diego, California. When I’m home, it’s stupidly easy to go take a dance class with one of the greatest dancers in the world. Sure, it’s really cool to learn choreography from your idols, but what I think makes the Southern Californian dance scene so great is the accessibility, the ease with which one can meet and talk to some of the best dancers alive today.
I’ve taken classes with lots of amazing people who are more than willing to share what they know and how they feel with anyone that walks into their class. During my journey, I took a few notes in a private diary and realized how selfish I was being, not sharing what I learned with others. However, diaries seem a bit too personal and out of place on a university arts & culture blog. As such, understand that these are simply my own opinions and what I gained from attending X event. There are many more perspectives and opinions out there, but here’s my two cents.
Now it has become a collection of everything I’ve created that I feel comfortable sharing. This will soon include stories from my travels and other thoughts. Read at your leisure and take what you want from it.
